About Dutchman Metal
Dutchman Metals began in 1981 as Dutchman Market, a local supply store founded by Paul Martin and his family after relocating to Casey County, Kentucky. The store quickly became a trusted destination for used furniture, farm supplies, cooking essentials—and eventually, metal roofing. In the early days, metal panels were sourced from regional suppliers in fixed 48' lengths, then cut down by hand to meet each customer’s needs.
In 1991, Paul passed the metal side of the business to his son, Tim Martin, while continuing to operate the original Dutchman Market general store next door. Under Tim’s leadership, the metal operation evolved to meet growing demand. A few years later, Dutchman began purchasing painted steel coils and roll forming custom panels in-house—bringing greater flexibility, shorter lead times, and improved service to their customers.
Today, Dutchman Metals continues to grow and modernize, all while staying true to the values it was built on: hard work, integrity, and serving the local community with quality metal products and reliable service.
